Good BBQ??
We all know that barbecue is one of America's favorite types of food, but where is the best place to get it? Sonny's Barbecue is a great place to get it. I ate at Sonny's last night and I always love it. I always get the same thing the unlimited Pulled Pork with mac and cheese and corn on the cob. So, dive on in to hear my experience at Sonny's.
First off let’s talk about the service had. The waiter was friendly at pleasing. The atmosphere is good and well lit. The only thing that I was disappointed about was although our waitress was peppy it took a while to get the refills of pulled pork. In the past, it would take like 60-90 seconds to get a refill but she took a little longer. I feel like i could have gotten another refill of pulled pork if she was just a little faster, other than that I thought she was a great waitress. We had five people in our party and three of us had lemons in our drinks, now if you know anything about Sonny's drinks you get a massive cup which is great. She accounted for that. Usually the server brings one or two lemons for the drinks, she brought like ten which was good because the bigger the drink the more lemons so I thought that was a huge plus for her.
Now let’s talk appetizer, the appetizer that we got were the New Redneck Egg Rolls. Let’s just say they were the best egg rolls that I have eaten. I could not have asked for better egg rolls than what was served to us. I would have to say that the egg rolls were the best appetizer I have had yet. Now here is one thing that was unusual, we had to ask for plates when our appetizer came out. She explained that some people do not even use the plates and when they bring them they are just left alone in the stack so she did not know if we wanted them or not. I would think that the server is supposed to bring them no matter what.
Now getting on to the entree I had the unlimited pulled pork with mac and cheese and corn on the cob. Now the first serving of pulled pork was great but after that Sonny's decides to cut down on all of the refills I guess to cut down on the waste. The mac and cheese was bland. The other times that I have come to Sonny's and get the mac and cheese it usually has that homemade taste to it. This one did not. The corn on the cob had looked like they had over cooked it at first but then upon looking further at it I had seen that the skewers that had been put into it must of fallen out so they had pushed then in again.
As you can see I had a good time at Sonny's and I would recommend it to a barbecue enthusiast. Overall I would give it three out of 5 stars. I hope that this helps you choose your next restaurant.
