Best Headphones for Less than $100

This past Christmas I received the Sennheiser HD 280 Pro headphones because I needed something that I could listen to PFL mixes as I was doing sound but found they were better than I thought.

First off let’s talk about quality, they come in a nice sturdy box with a nice picture of them on the front and all of the technical information on the back of the box for my fellow techies. When you open the box, you are presented with the sight of the beautiful well-made headphones. With other headphones, their wires are thin and easily break off. With the HD 280 Pro from Sennheiser you do not have that issue because the cable is thick and durable.

Secondly, let me talk to you about the functionality. I originally got the headphones because I needed something to isolate sounds while listening to mixes but I also found out they are great for when you just want to get away from the world or you want to listen to music as you are doing homework. In my past with over the ear headphones they would sound too tinsy but with these they sound full. They sound as well as my 450 InEarz. The only thing that I would recommend is that Sennheiser makes the L and R labels white because it was hard to find them and hard to tell what they said.

Third, let me talk to you about comfort. Usually with other over-the-ear headphones I would be very uncomfortable and constantly be adjusting them. With these you just put them on and enjoy. They have nice thick foam ear pads and just a nice feel to them.

I would give the HD 280 Pro Headphones from Sennheiser three out of five stars. I would also recommend these to any college student or audio engineer or even a church for their drummer because they isolate very well.
